Glimpses of the Silent Auction

November 2010

" O taste and see that the LORD is good; How blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him!"  -Psalm 34:8

Every year in the month of November, our church family gathers together to bid on items brought by the members of the congregation through a silent auction (bidding with a number writing the number and bid dollar amount on paper in front of the  item).  Everyone in the congregation looks forward to this event as the deacons in our church always do such wonderful planning, setting beautiful tables, great entertainment and delicious food.

Our church family and guests then gathers around the table to share a delicious Thanksgiving meal together as we stop and thank the Lord for His great blessings upon us as a church, as families and as individuals.

We continue the wonderful evening after the silent auction is closed with a live auction in which bidding is done from the audience with special items brought out by one of our beautiful youth.

The youth group often help in serving and cleaning for this event which we really appreciate.

And finally we are thoroughly entertained by members of our congregation who share their talents with us.

At the end, happy people pick-up and pay for their winning bids, help clean up

and set up the worship service for church the next day!

"Many hands make light work."
